Gelert continues to delight me, what a generous warm hearted breed these little dogs are. He still thinks he's huge and behaves accordingly. Angus died last year, leukaemia. I was devastated. We now have Teddy another Border Collie who has been raised by Gelert and thinks he's small. Actually sits on my knee. My cats continue to thrive although both have a degree of asthma, Moth's being worse.
Happy to see you are in such a beautiful place and hope life is being good to you and Adrian. If ever you have a male puppy for sale and I can afford him, please let me know. He would be warmly welcomed and well cared for, although this is a future hope as I have the max I'm allowed at the moment. Kind regards Maureen Jaeche

Comments: Auto-immune throiditis is an often ignored and/or mis-diagnosed genetic problem in IGs.The symptoms are often merely cosmetic [weight gain, poor coat] and breeders [generally speaking] continue to breed from affected IGs. Its not until the seizure symptom becomes apparent, the breeders/owners take it seriously. Even then the seizures are most often attributed to 'epilepsy' and correct medication is not prescribed. The condition is inherited by a simple recessive gene and therfore is sometimes produced from unaffected stock. It is widespread across many breeds, not confined to IGs. I consider it the most prevalent and unrecognized genetic problem I've yet encountered. Fortunately, a low-thyroid dog with correct dosage of Thryoxine can live a long, healthy, normal life.

Comments: Loved your website, particularly the puppies. You're right about the roadkill animals too. Well done. I purchased an IG in May/Jun this year following the loss of my Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch. Congenital spinal probs which left her in great pain and unable to use her back legs. She was five and symptoms developed rapidly due to disc deterioration late last year.
Gelert is her successor, and a worthy one at that. What a totally delightful breed. He makes many friends when we go out. Sadly it seems his adult dentition will no be too great; but I just adore him. Personality plus, what a
breed! I'm besotted. Glad to know you are here as when my getting on a bit Border Collie goes to his maker, I think I shall get another IG (always supposing I can stand the pace). Thanks for a great site. Maureen

Comments: I love your Italain Greyhounds but found that a lot of the photoes wouldn't open.
Do you ever sell puppies into show homes as I am looking for a good dog or bitch to go on with that is not related to my guys. I have been breeding dogs for over 30 years and follow the same principal as you eg not breeding from any known carriers etc and also bad temperaments. I finally got the breeders in SA to admit that the belgian shepherd temperament could be bred out, and when I gave up breeding them mine were very sound in temperament.

Comments: Well I'm doing much better in juniors so far this year I now a Best Junior from Western Mass.Toy Dog Show.I have gotton alot of placings at shows this year that I lost at last year.And also Sept. 4, 1999 I got a group second in maine.Still Looking for those major for Duncan my one IG,Mikey is fully retired and My Curly Yatzee is now Finished.I have been doing alot more handling of other breeds but right now I'm sticking with owning IGs and Curlies.I hope you are still showing andd winning.

I loved your web pages. I have been surfing around reading everything I can find about Italian Greyhounds and was very encouraged by everything I read in your pages. I loved all the pictures and even the bit of video.
We will be returning home to the US from Singapore in about a year. We have had whippets in the past and are interested in a smaller dog, but we loved our whippets. A friends suggested Italian Greyhounds, but I haven't seen sighthounds of any kind in Singapore.
I was very impressed to see all the things that you are doing to prevent the health problems that I have read are common in IG's. Our dog, Romeo, was cryptorchid and therefore neutered, but you couldn't have had a more loving pet. We were new pet owners and buyers and didn't realize that this type of problem was hereditary.
We do not show dogs and so would not be interested in IG's that we would be required to show, but are looking for two loving pets.
We felt with just one bitch, that she seemed a bit low at times even with her human family for company. We also noticed when our dog died, she became very depressed and she died shortly thereafter. They were both 14 years old when they died.
Would you consider selling your puppies to a family from Singapore that would be returning to the US? Please let us know.

Comments: I have enjoyed looking at your pictures. I have a 5-year-old IG seal/white IG named Emma. Unfortunately, when I got her I didn't know any better than to buy from a pet store! Never again! Bless her heart, she's had some physical problems, but I doubt that I will ever own another breed of dog!! I used to be Dachshund lover all the way, but now it's IG's for me. Again, I thoroughly enjoyed the pics on your site. Thanks!

Comments: I like your website it has changed since I was here last time.Since Feb I have been getting alot of placings in Juniors.In may I went up to Maine and took breed both days and a 4th one and and a 1st the next in Juniors.If you get the Ig Magazine my mother put an ad in there with my wonderful weekend.Plus at the specialty I got a second in junior.I want to thank Lois Mar for letting me be the co-owner to Marchwind Highland Pipe(Duncan) he has been a great dog and is still on his way to his championship. My other Ig Mikey has been semiretired for the time because I have another dog her name is Yatzee shes a Curly Coated retriever,her father is top in the nation right now and she'll soon be up there too.Alicia I hope you have a Great time in College and keep continuing your showing career.
